What’s up guys! My name is Larry Nolan and I’m an ex-fuck-up, uneducated, excuse-making quitter who turned it around and now wants to pay it forward.
I’m about dreaming big, but more importantly being willing to work big to make it happen!
I don’t believe you have to be the first kid to raise their hand in class, the starter on the field, or the one with all the talents to be successful, but rather quite the contrary. None of that shit really matters if you have three other basics down pat: You need unwavering faith in yourself, relentless work ethic, and crazy fucking resilience, and if you can get those there down you’ll murder your goals.
I EMBRACE THE STRUGGLE
I grew up with a single mom who worked her ass off to provide for us, but always struggled. I had a poster on my wall of a Lamborghini Countach, but in reality we didn’t even have a family car except for the few short bouts where they’d run so badly that my little sister and I would have to push them over railroad tracks, as they couldn’t do it under their own power.
In 6th grade I wore my mom’s white deck shoes to school since I didn’t have any and my mom took the city bus to work when we didn’t have a car…people out there had it worse, but you can see shit wasn’t all roses and butterflies.
I ended up going on to epically fail at school and never graduate, then go on shortly after to rack up two felonies and be destined to be unemployed for life or dead in most people’s eyes.
I decided to pursue my true passion for fitness at age 23, dove in with both feet, and ended up training two clients (my mom and now wife) at a park with a few sets of dumbbells and zero clue what I was doing.
I never got a helping hand, an investor, a loan, or a big break, but despite that and all the mistakes I made along the way, 12 years later we have gyms opening all over the country, been voted best gym or boot camp in every city we open in, been named on the Inc 5000 list two consecutive years as top 5000 fastest growing private companies in America, even got named 3rd fastest growing private company in Los Angeles.
I’ve been able to turn my passion into not only a career but an empire and along the way retire my mom and buy her her dream car and home, my own, and provide opportunity and help thousands of others along the way!
